With 45 years of construction experience, owner Paul Gilbert provides his clients with experience and knowledge gained from a wide variety of successfully performed projects. This background provides a full understanding of the work processes and knowledge in how to establish a work environment that gives the project team the best opportunity to complete the project on time and on budget.
D and G Development specializes in commercial and industrial construction. Our single-floor and/or multi-floor projects range in size from an office up-fit to a 50,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. The type of construction varies from a pre-engineered metal building to a conventional block/brick with EPDM roof, or a tilt wall construction with bar joist conventional roof.

D and G Development Co. believes that the team concept is critical to the overall success to any project. Paul Gilbert plays an active role in every project through his direct involvement by visiting job sites daily, by keeping investors updated and by being involved in all aspects of the construction requirements. This on-hands participation by D&G working with all members of the project’s team can avoid construction delays saving our clients’ time and money without sacrificing quality. Our Team
Joe Estes has been working in the field of construction since he was sixteen. He has 43 years experience in the field of structural concrete, structural steel erection, carpentry and commercial kitchen designer. His leadership ability has included construction supervision, coordination with sub-contractors, meeting scheduled deadlines, and following safety procedures. His most recent projects are the two-story Piedmont Bank in Mooresville, D&G’s office building in Mooresville and the Oak’s on Davie Avenue in Statesville.

D&G History
D and G Development Company of NC, LLC was an overgrowth of several Companies with Rick Dagenhart and Paul Gilbert. Forming D and G Development Company in 2004, Paul Gilbert bought Rick Dagenhart’s shares in 2006.
D and G Development began building quality industrial buildings as a Fee Basic Contract and for an Investor Group. The investor groups were persons who wanted to invest in an industrial building and would contract with D and G Development to build, lease and manage the building. This was done a number of times where we would build the building and lease the space to a firm that needed that type of space. We kept the records of the lease such as expenses for the investors and at year end we would send out the tax information.
Subcontractors
D&G Development of NC, LLC feels a responsibility for selecting subcontractors who feel that the job must be Built Right the First Time and On Schedule. They must also remember that Safety is something that we all must be conscious of. We do not take short cuts with Quality. A poor subcontractor can reflect on our reputation as well as their own. Our reputation was too hard to earn. Therefore we must hold them to our own standards. We believe for a $1.00 of service we should give $1.00, not more or less. Being fair with our subcontractors and investors is important. |
